Apogee Semiconductor Translation - Voltage Levels

Translation is a term used to describe the conversion of digital signals into various voltage levels. It is used in many electrical and electronic circuits. For example, it can be used in microprocessors to transfer data between two different voltage levels when accessing a memory chip. Translation is also used in analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converter circuits. In these converters, the analog signal is sampled and then converted to an equivalent digital number before it is sent to the processor or other circuit. The digital number is then converted back to the original analog voltage level before it is transmitted back to the source.
