Circuit breakers are devices designed to protect electrical systems from excessive current, which can cause overheating and dangerous electrical fires. Accessories can include alarm systems to alert building occupants in the event of a fire or other emergency, surge protection devices to protect against power surges, and specialized circuit breaker trip points to adjust the level of current allowed on the circuit.
