Surging NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) Thermistors

NTC (Negative Temperature Coefficient) thermistors are temperature-sensitive resistors whose resistance decreases as their temperature increases. They are made from stable semiconductor materials, such as semiconductor oxides and polycrystalline silicon. They have a small size and are easy to incorporate into electronics. NTC thermistors are used in many different applications including temperature sensing, motor protection, circuit protection, overcurrent protection, and more. NTC thermistors are often used in safety circuits and provide a good indication that a fault is occurring or is about to occur. They are also used to ensure that the maximum temperature of an appliance or system does not exceed certain limits.
