About Camera Lenses
Omron Camera Lenses
Camera lenses are an integral part of any photographer's toolkit. Lenses allow photographers to control the specific look and feel of the images they capture. A camera lens is comprised of a series of glass elements which control the amount of light passing through them, affecting how the image is focused, how much depth of field is present, and the overall ability of the photographer to manipulate an image. Different lenses come with different abilities and creative potentialities, such as wide-angle, zoom, and specialty lenses. Each of these lenses has different characteristics that allow for varying amount of light and magnification, as well as specific functions for each lens used in relation to the distance of the subject from the camera. Wide-angle lenses create a large field of view, making them great for capturing wide landscapes and many subjects in one image. Zoom lenses, on the other hand, provide the photographer with the flexibility to zoom in and out to adjust the level of detail in the photograph. Specialty lenses are often designed for specific purposes, such as macro and fisheye lenses. Each of these lenses focuses light and captures images in a different way, allowing photographers to create unique and expansive visuals with their cameras.
