About Trimmer Resistors - Through Hole
Apem Trimmer Resistors - Through Hole
Trimmer resistors, also known as trim pots, are adjustable multi-turn resistors with a range of resistance values. They are designed to adjust a circuit with a variable resistor that can be changed easily and quickly. The Trimmer resistors come in various sizes, and they usually have a metal screw on the top that acts as a shaft connected to a resistance element within the component. When the screw is turned, the resistance value changes. The resistors are placed into a circuit board using the “through-hole” method, where the leads of the component come through holes in the substrate and are soldered on the other side. Trimmer resistors are ideal for calibrating or customizing circuits where a small degree of precision is required.
