About Audio Sample Rate Converters
Audio Sample Rate Converters
Audio Sample Rate Converters (SRCs) are devices used to convert digital audio from one sample frequency to another. They are used in a wide variety of applications and can reduce or increase a signal’s sample rate as needed. Sample rates can vary from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz or higher modern systems. SRCs allow for digital audio to be adapted for use in different devices or systems, which often require specific sample rate specifications. Many times SRCs are used in the professional audio environment to convert signals between workstations, recording systems, and other audio sources. SRCs generally perform a process called “upsampling” and “downsampling” to help adjust the sample rate of a signal.
