Thermal Substrates - MCPCB
Thermal substrates are specialized substrates that are typically used in devices or circuits requiring cooling or enhanced thermal management. They allow the designer to create a custom thermal path due to their specialized design. These substrates are usually made out of metal core (such as copper or aluminum) with layers of insulation so that components do not get burned by the heat generated by the device or circuit. They also have a place to bond components and other features such as landing pads and heat spreaders. Thermal substrates are often used in LED lighting, electrical motors, computer chips, power supplies, and other high speed and/or high power applications.
