3 Automotive Attachment Tape 06394 (Gray) Technical Data Sheet January 2006 General Description 3M Automotive Attachment Tape 06394 is a .090-inch-thick, gray, high- performance, double-coated acrylic foam tape. This OEM-approved tape is designed for reliable attachment of a wide variety of automotive exterior and interior trim including running boards, ground effects, claddings, rocker panel moldings, spoilers, wheel flares, bumper trim and other larger or heavier automotive trim components. 3M tape 06394 is OEM approved for the most demanding trim attachment applications where bonding surface contours may be poorly matched and/or a thick foam is required. Its thick, gray, high-strength core offers unique viscoelastic properties that allow it to elongate and relax when put under load, thereby minimizing stress at the adhesive bond line. This thick tape offers the following key performance features: Superior adhesion to automotive substrates Conformable core gives excellent wet-out (tape contact) on mismatched surfaces High-strength core absorbs and dissipates stress on bond line 3M Automotive Adhesion Promoter 06396 is recommended for use on all plastic parts such as RIM, TPO, PPO, PP, PC, PC+ABS, etc., for tape-to- part adhesion when used with 3M tape 06394.
