Scotch General Purpose Filament Reinforced Tape 8961 Product Data Sheet Updated : July 2000 Supersedes : February 1999 8961 is a general purpose tape reinforced with single directional glass filaments. The Product Description ScotchPro polypropylene backing provides excellent abrasion, moisture and scuff resistance. The adhesive is specially formulated to provide good initial and shear adhesion to fibreboard surfaces. Physical Properties Adhesive Type Pressure Sensitive Hot Melt Solvent Free (Synthetic Rubber Not for specification purposes Resin) ScotchPro Polypropylene Backing Glass Filament Reinforcement 160 micron Total Thickness Transparent Colour Store behind present stock, in a clean dry place. Storage Conditions Temperature of 64 - 70F (18-21C) & 40-50% Relative Humidity are recommended. Under correct storage conditions the tape maintains its characteristics for one year (shelf life). Rotate your stock. An extensive line of application equipment including hand held manual dispensers and Application semi-automatic L-Clip applicator. Application of 8961 is most easily accomplished at room temperature. At colder temperatures, approaching 32F (0C), the adhesive becomes more firm.
