It is used for transmitting and receiving of data over long distances and can be used in the Internet of Things (IoT) applications like asset tracking, smart home automations, and other industrial and commercial applications. It provides superior performance to traditional RF transceivers by enabling lower cost connections, longer distances, better quality signal reception, and improved penetration through obstacles.
