The AM3A-4812SZ is an in-line single-output isolated DC/DC converter from Aimtec. It offers an adjustable output voltage range of 4.75 to 5.25V and a maximum output current of 12A. It is a family of open frame, isolated DC/DC converters with parallel diode, external compensation options and a wide input voltage range that spans 4.5V to 36V. The AM3A-4812SZ features an ultra-wide 4:1 input voltage range, making it ideal for use in telecommunications, security systems and automotive applications. The device is suitable for industrial, railway and off-highway applications as well. The 1.2 kHz switching frequency makes this device an excellent choice for space-critical applications with limited real estate. The standard 5 pin SIP package contains the necessary components for efficient operation, requiring only a few external components, such as a bypass capacitor and snubber diodes, for the full electro-magnetic compatibility (EMC) and stability.
