Single-Channel, 16-Bit Current/Voltage Output DAC with HART Connectivity Data Sheet AD5423 FEATURES GENERAL DESCRIPTION 16-bit resolution and monotonicity The AD5423 is a single-channel, voltage and current output digital- Current or voltage output available on a single terminal to-analog converter (DAC) that operates with a power supply range Current output ranges: 0 mA to 20 mA, 4 mA to 20 mA, from 33 V minimum on AVSS to +33 V maximum on AVDD1. The 0 mA to 24 mA, 20 mA, 24 mA, and 1 mA to +22 mA CHART pin enables a Highway Addressable Remote Transducer Voltage output ranges (with 20% overrange): 0 V to 5 V, (HART) signal to be coupled on the current output. 0 V to 10 V, 5 V, and 10 V The AD5423 uses a versatile, 4-wire, serial peripheral interface User programmable offset and gain (SPI) that operates at clock rates of up to 50 MHz and is Advanced on-chip diagnostics, including a 12-bit ADC compatible with standard SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, digital On-chip reference signal processor (DSP), and microcontroller interface standards. 40C to +115C temperature range The interface also features an optional SPI cyclic redundancy 32-Lead, 5 mm 5 mm LFCSP package check (CRC) and a watchdog timer (WDT). The AD5423 offers improved diagnostic features from earlier versions of similar APPLICATIONS DACs, such as an integrated, 12-bit diagnostic analog-to-digital Process control converter (ADC).
