LT1039/LT1039-16 RS232 Driver/Receiver with Shutdown FEATURES DESCRIPTIO n Operates from 5V to 15V Supplies The LT 1039 is a triple RS232 driver/receiver that in- n cludes shutdown. Each receiver will accept up to 30V Fully Protected Against Overload n input and can drive either TTL or CMOS logic. The RS232 Outputs Can Be Driven 30V Without Damage n drivers accept TTL logic inputs and output RS232 voltage Three-State Outputs Outputs Open When Off n levels. The outputs are fully protected against overload Bipolar CircuitNo Latchup and can be shorted to ground or up to 30V without n 30V Input Range damage to the drivers. Additionally, when the system is n Triple Driver/Receiver shut down or power is off, the outputs are in a high n No Supply Current in Shutdown impedance state allowing data line sharing. Bipolar cir- n 30kW Input Impedance cuitry makes this driver/receiver exceptionally rugged n Meets All RS232 Specifications against overloads and immune to latchup. n 16-Pin VersionPin Compatible with MC145406 n Available in SO Package A BIAS pin allows one receiver to be kept on while the rest n 15kV ESD: LT1039A of the part is shut down.
