LTC1516 Micropower, Regulated 5V Charge Pump DC/DC Converter FEATURES DESCRIPTION n Ultralow Power: Typical Operating I = 12A The LTC 1516 is a micropower charge pump DC/DC CC n Short Circuit/Thermal Protection converter that produces a regulated 5V output from a 2V n Regulated 5V 4% Output to 5V supply. Extremely low supply current (12A typical n 2V to 5V Input Range with no load, <1A in shutdown) and low external parts n No Inductors count (two 0.22F flying capacitors and two 10F capaci- n I in Shutdown: <1A tors at V and V ) make the LTC1516 ideally suited for CC IN OUT n Output Current:20mA (V > 2V) small, light load battery-powered applications. Typical IN 50mA (V > 3V) efficiency (V = 3V) exceeds 70% with load currents IN IN n Shutdown Disconnects Load from V between 50A and 50mA. Modulating the SHDN pin keeps IN n Internal Oscillator: 600kHz the typical efficiency above 70% with load currents all the 2 n Compact Application Circuit (0.1 in ) way down to 10A. n 8-Pin SO Package The LTC1516 operates as either a doubler or a tripler depending on V and output load conditions to improve U IN overall efficiency.
