POWER LOSS (W) LTC3564 2.25MHz, 1.25A Synchronous Step-Down Regulator FEATURES DESCRIPTIO High Efficiency: Up to 96% The LTC 3564 is a high efficiency monolithic synchro- Very Low Quiescent Current: Only 20A nous buck regulator using a constant frequency, current 1.25A Output Current mode architecture. Supply current during operation is 2.5V to 5.5V Input Voltage Range only 20 A, dropping to 1 A in shutdown. The 2.5V to 2.25MHz Constant Frequency Operation 5.5V input voltage range makes the LTC3564 ideally suited No Schottky Diode Required for single Li-Ion battery-powered or 3.3V to 5V input Low Dropout Operation: 100% Duty Cycle voltage applications. 100% duty cycle provides low drop- 0.6V Reference Allows Low Output Voltages out operation, extending battery life in portable systems. Shutdown Mode Draws 1 A Supply Current Automatic Burst Mode operation increases efficiency at Current Mode Operation for Excellent Line and light loads, further extending battery runtime. Load Transient Response Switching frequency is internally set at 2.25MHz, allowing Overtemperature Protected TM the use of small surface mount inductors and capacitors. Low Profile (1mm) ThinSOT and 6-Lead (2mm 3mm) DFN Packages The internal synchronous switch increases efficiency and U eliminates the need for an external Schottky diode. Low APPLICATIO S output voltages are easily supported with the 0.6V feed- back reference voltage.
