LTM9100 Anyside High Voltage Isolated Switch Controller with 2 I C Command and Telemetry Fea T Descrip T n UL-CSA Recognition Pending: 5kV for One The LTM 9100 Module (micromodule) controller is a RMS 2 Minute complete, galvanically isolated switch controller with I C n Reinforced Insulation interface, for use as a load switch or hot swap controller. The n Integrated Isolated Power Supply load is soft started and controlled by an external N-channel n Adjustable Turn-On Ramp Rate and Current Limit MOSFET switch. Overcurrent protection minimizes 2 n I C/SMBus Interface MOSFET stress during start-up, input step and output n 10-Bit ADC Monitors Current and Two short-circuit conditions. Owing to the isolated, floating Uncommitted Channels character of the switch, it is easily configured for use in n High Common Mode Transient Immunity: 30kV/s high side, low side and floating applications. n Fault Status Alert and Power Good Outputs A single 5V supply powers both sides of the switch con- n Independent 3V to 5.5V Logic Supply troller through an integrated, isolated DC/DC converter. n 20kV ESD Across the Isolation Barrier A separate logic supply input allows easy interfacing with n Maximum Continuous Working Voltage: 690V RMS logic levels from 3V to 5.5V, independent of the main n 14.6mm Creepage Distance supply. Isolated measurements of load current and two n Low Current Shutdown Mode (<10A) additional voltage inputs are made by a 10-bit ADC, and n 22mm 9mm 5.16mm BGA Package 2 accessed via the I C interface. 2 a T The logic and I C interface is separated from the switch controller by a 5kV isolation barrier, making the n RMS High Voltage DC Hot Swap LTM9100 ideal for systems where the switch operates on n Live Backplane Insertion buses up to 1000V , as well as for providing galvanic n DC Isolated Distributed Power Systems isolation in systems where a ground path is broken to al- n Power Monitors low large common mode voltage swings. Uninterrupted n Industrial Control Systems communication is guaranteed for common mode transients n Breaking Ground Loops of up to 30kV/s.
