The MAX14840EASA+T with RS-485 Interface IC is a 40 Mbps +3.3V RS-485 half-duplex transceiver manufactured by Analog Devices. This device serves as an interface between computers, devices, and controllers in applications like factory automation, industrial automation, medical equipment, and information processing. This is a low-power RS-485 transceiver which is designed to meet the stringent EMC and surge requirements of automotive applications. It features integrated protection against reverse and overvoltage, and can withstand up to a minimum of 25kV surge contact leg. The integrated ESD protection permits up to 25kV contact discharge. The device also has very low ground/supply current under the active bus state, making the device well suited for battery-powered applications. The driver output levels are individually adjustable, so the signal amplitude can be tailored to match the required line length and for efficient data transmission.
