MAX16068 19-5040 Rev 1 6/10 6-Channel, Flash-Configurable System Manager with Nonvolatile Fault Registers General Description Features The MAX16068 flash-configurable system manager S Operates from 2.8V to 14V monitors and manages up to six system voltages S 1% Accurate, 10-Bit ADC Monitors 6 Voltage simultaneously. The MAX16068 integrates an analog- Inputs to-digital converter (ADC). Device configuration infor- S Analog EN Monitoring Input mation, including overvoltage and undervoltage limits, time delay settings is stored in nonvolatile flash memory. S 6 Monitored Inputs with Overvoltage and Undervoltage Limits During a fault condition, fault flags and channel volt- ages can be automatically stored in the nonvolatile flash S Nonvolatile Fault Event Logger memory for later readback. S Six General-Purpose Inputs/Outputs Configurable The internal 1% accurate, 10-bit ADC measures each as: input and compares the result to one overvoltage and Dedicated Fault Output one undervoltage limit. A fault signal asserts when a Watchdog Timer Function monitored voltage falls outside the set limits. Manual Reset SMBus Alert The MAX16068 supports a power-supply voltage of up to Fault Propagation Input/Output 14V and can be powered directly from the 12V interme- diate bus in many systems. S SMBus and JTAG Interface The MAX16068 includes six programmable general- S Supports Cascading with MAX16065/MAX16066 purpose inputs/outputs (GPIOs). GPIOs are flash con- S Flash-Configurable Time Delays and Thresholds figurable as a fault output, as a watchdog input or output, S -40NC to +85NC Extended Operating Temperature or as a manual reset. Range The MAX16068 features nonvolatile fault memory for recording information during system shutdown events. Applications The fault logger records a failure in the internal flash Networking Equipment and sets a lock bit protecting the stored fault data from accidental erasure. Telecom Equipment (Base Stations, Access) An SMBus or a JTAG serial interface configures the Storage/RAID Systems MAX16068. The MAX16068 is available in a 28-pin, 5mm Servers x 5mm, TQFN package and is fully specified over the -40NC to +85NC extended temperature range. Typical Operating Circuit appears at end of data sheet. Stresses beyond those listed under Absolute Maximum Ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. These are stress ratings only, and functional operation of the device at these or any other conditions beyond those indicated in the operational sections of the specifications is not implied. Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability. ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS (V = 2.8V to 14V, T = T = -40NC to +85NC, unless otherwise specified.
