MAX1951ESA+T Analog Devices

The MAX1951ESA+T is a high-performance DC-to-DC step-down switching voltage regulator manufactured by Analog Devices. It is an all-ceramic 2A PWM (pulse width modulation) regulator that operates from a 2.6 to 5.5V input and is capable of regulating an output voltage up to 5.5V. This device is ideal for controlling power converters in space-constrained, energy-sensitive applications which require up to 2A of continuous output current such as ultra-low-power microprocessors, DSPs, FPGAs, and ASICs. It also features the high-frequency capability (up to 1MHz) of traditional analog control loops and reduces the parts count in power supplies compared to PWM controllers. Furthermore, its wide input voltage range allows the use of an unregulated linear source like an alkaline galv. This regulator includes many features designed to minimize external components such as an alternating synchronous rectifier to reduce total power consumption and improve light-load efficiency, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and programmable thermal shutdown.
