MAX20743 Integrated, Step-Down Switching Regulator with PMBus General Description Benefits and Features The MAX20743 is a fully integrated, highly efficient High-Power Density and Low Component Count 2 switching regulator with PMBus for applications Overall Solution Size 509mm Including Inductor operating from 4.5V to 16V and requiring up to 35A and Output Capacitors maximum load. This single-chip regulator provides 90.8% Peak Efficiency with V = 12V and DDH extremely compact, high-efficiency power delivery V = 1V OUT solutions with high-precision output voltages and excellent Fast Transient Response: Supports Up to 300A/s transient response for networking, datacom and telecom Load-Step Transients equipment. Optimized Component Performance and Efficiency The IC offers a broad range of programmable features with Reduced Design-In Time through either the PMBus or through a capacitor and PMBus-Compliant Interface for Telemetry and resistor connected to a dedicated programming pin. Power Management Using this feature, the operation can be optimized for a Voltage, Current and Temperature Reporting specific application, reducing the component count and/ through Digital Bus or setting appropriate trade-offs between the regulators Increased Power-Supply Reliability with System and performance and system cost. Ease of programming IC Self-Protection Features enables using the same design for multiple applications. Differential Remote Sense with Open-Circuit The IC includes protection and telemetry features. Input Programmable Thermal Shutdown undervoltage lockout shuts down the device to prevent operation when the input voltage is out of specification.
