The MAX3223EEAP+ is an integrated device manufactured by Analog Devices that integrates interface, transceiver, and RS232 into one full-duplex, 250kbps SSOP20 package. The chip offers a 16-pin SSOP wide-body package that is designed for use in communications applications. It has a built-in level shifter that allows for the interface between logic systems and RS-232 transceivers, while an advanced power-saving shutdown mode reduces power consumption. Maximum output levels of 32V are supported. Inputs can range from single-wire (RxD receiver input) to dual-wire (driver and receiver inputs). It is useful in a number of applications, such as modems, PDAs, digital cameras, printers, and more.
