EVALUATION KIT AVAILABLE MAX34461 PMBus 16-Channel Voltage Monitor and Sequencer General Description Features The MAX34461 is a system monitor that is capable of S 16 Channels of Power-Supply Management managing up to 16 power supplies. The power-supply S Power-Supply Voltage Measurement and manager monitors the power-supply output voltages and Monitoring constantly checks for user-programmable overvoltage S Fast Minimum/Maximum Threshold Excursion and undervoltage thresholds. If a fault is detected, Detection the device automatically shuts down the system in an S Remote Ground Sensing Improves Measurement orderly fashion. The device can sequence the supplies in any order at both power-up and power-down. With Accuracy the addition of external current DACs, the device has S Automatic Closed-Loop Margining the ability to close-loop margin the power-supply output S Programmable Up and Down Sequencing voltages up or down to a user-programmable level. The S Supports Up to Five Temperature Sensors device contains an internal temperature sensor and can (One Internal/Four Remote) support up to four external remote temperature sensors. Once configured, the device can operate autonomously S Fault Detection on All Temperature Sensors without any host intervention. S Reports Peak and Average Levels for a Number of Parameters Applications S PMBus-Compliant Command Interface Network Switches/Routers 2 S I C/SMBus-Compatible Serial Bus with Bus Base Stations Timeout Function Servers S On-Board Nonvolatile Black Box Fault Logging and Default Configuration Setting Smart Grid Network Systems S Expandable Channel Operation with Parallel Devices S Up to 16 GPOs S No External Clocking Required S 3.0V to 3.6V Supply Voltage Ordering Information and Typical Operating Circuit appear at end of data sheet. Differences from MAX34460 S Adds 4 Channels of Monitoring, Sequencing, and Margining S Removes Dual Loop Sequencing, Watchdog, and Alarm Output Functionality PMBus is a trademark of SMIF, Inc.
