The MAX485EPA+ is a low-power, slew-rate-limited transceiver IC from Analog Devices that is designed to interface between a microcontroller and the RS-485 or RS-422 standard. The device eliminates the need for separate RS-485 and RS-422 transceivers, providing the flexibility to easily interface with either protocol. It features an 18.6kbps data rate, Slew Rate Limiting, 500kbps data rate, and features a fast turn-on. It also features a low power consumption of 5.5 mA maximum, with reduced standby current and low ESD susceptibility. Additionally, the device has an operating temperature range of -40 to 85°C, and its package is a 8-Lead PDIP. This product is especially well-suited for automotive applications, as it is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified and is backwards compatible with previous equivalents in the MAX485 family.
