MAX5532MAX5535 19-3062 Rev 1 1/07 Dual, Ultra-Low-Power, 12-Bit, Voltage-Output DACs General Description Features The MAX5532MAX5535 are dual, 12-bit, ultra-low- Ultra-Low 5A Supply Current power, voltage-output, digital-to-analog converters Shutdown Mode Reduces Supply Current to (DACs) offering rail-to-rail buffered voltage outputs. The 0.18A (max) DACs operate from a 1.8V to 5.5V supply and consume Single +1.8V to +5.5V Supply less than 5A, making the devices suitable for low- power and low-voltage applications. A shutdown mode Small 4mm x 4mm x 0.8mm Thin QFN Package reduces overall current, including the reference input Internal Reference Sources 8mA of Current current, to just 0.18A. The MAX5532MAX5535 use a (MAX5533/MAX5535) 3-wire serial interface that is compatible with SPI, Flexible Force-Sense-Configured Rail-to-Rail QSPI, and MICROWIRE. Output Buffers Upon power-up, the MAX5532MAX5535 outputs are Fast 16MHz, 3-Wire, SPI-/QSPI-/MICROWIRE- driven to zero scale, providing additional safety for Compatible Serial Interface applications that drive valves or for other transducers that need to be off during power-up. The zero-scale TTL- and CMOS-Compatible Digital Inputs with outputs enable glitch-free power-up. Hysteresis The MAX5532 accepts an external reference input and Glitch-Free Outputs During Power-Up provides unity-gain outputs. The MAX5533 contains a precision internal reference and provides a buffered Ordering Information external reference output with unity-gain DAC outputs. The MAX5534 accepts an external reference input and PKG PART TEMP RANGE PIN-PACKAGE provides force-sense outputs. The MAX5535 contains a CODE precision internal reference and provides a buffered MAX5532EUA -40C to +85C 8 MAX U8C-3 external reference output with force-sense DAC outputs. MAX5533EUA -40C to +85C 8 MAX U8C-3 The MAX5534/MAX5535 are available in a 4mm x 4mm MAX5534ETC -40C to +85C 12 Thin QFN-EP* T1244-4 x 0.8mm, 12-pin, thin QFN package. The MAX5532/ MAX5535ETC -40C to +85C 12 Thin QFN-EP* T1244-4 MAX5533 are available in an 8-pin MAX package.
