MAX5544 19-1571 Rev 0 12/99 Low-Cost, +5V, Serial-Input, Voltage-Output, 14-Bit DAC General Description Features The MAX5544 serial-input, voltage-output, 14-bit Full 14-Bit Performance Without Adjustments monotonic digital-to-analog converter (DAC) operates +5V Single-Supply Operation from a single +5V supply. The DAC output is Low Power: 1.5mW unbuffered, resulting in low 0.3mA supply current and low 1LSB offset error. The DAC output range is 0V to 1s Settling Time V . The DAC latch accepts a 16-bit serial word. A REF Unbuffered Voltage Output Directly Drives 60k power-on reset circuit clears the DAC output to 0V Loads (unipolar mode) when power is initially applied. SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE-Compatible Serial Interface The 10MHz 3-wire serial interface is SPI/QSPI/ MICROWIRE compatible and interfaces directly with Power-On Reset Circuit Clears DAC Output to 0V optocouplers for applications requiring isolation. The (unipolar mode) MAX5544 is available in an 8-pin SO package.
