The MAX5940BESAT is a low power and precision digital-fuse programmable current-limit controller from Analog Devices. This device features a wide adjustable current-limit range, up to 20A, and an open-drain, high-side output. This allows the MAX5940BESAT to be used in applications such as DC/DC converters, portable and hot swappable protection circuits, smartphones, current-limited power supplies, network routers and more. Additionally, the device offers ±2.5% accuracy across the full temperature range and is rated for operation over the extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Other key features include low power consumption, factory programming for secure current-limits, a shutdown input to reduce the quiescent current, and temperature protection with hysteresis.
