EVALUATION KIT AVAILABLE MAX8903AE/G/H/J/N/Y 2A 1-Cell Li+ DC-DC Chargers for USB and Adapter Power General Description Features Efficient DC-DC Converter Eliminates Heat The MAX8903AMAX8903E/MAX8903G/MAX8903H/ MAX8903J/MAX8903N/MAX8903Y are integrated 1-cell 4MHz Switching for Tiny External Components Li+ chargers and Smart Power Selectors with dual Instant OnWorks with No/Low Battery (AC adapter and USB) power inputs. The switch mode Dual Current-Limiting InputsAC Adapter or USB charger uses a high switching frequency to eliminate Automatic Adapter/USB/Battery Switchover to heat and allow tiny external components. It can operate Support Load Transients with either separate inputs for USB and AC adapter 50m System-to-Battery Switch power, or from a single input that accepts both. All Supports USB Spec power switches for charging and switching the load Thermistor Monitor between battery and external power are included on- Integrated Current-Sense Resistor chip. No external MOSFETs, blocking diodes, or cur- No External MOSFETs or Diodes rent-sense resistors are required. 4.1V to 16V Input Operating Voltage Range The MAX8903 features optimized smart power control to make the best use of limited USB or adapter power. Ordering Information Battery charge current and SYS output current limit are PART TEMP RANGE PIN-PACKAGE independently set. Power not used by the system charges the battery.
