The ATR142-ABC is a microprocessor-based interface module and control unit for the ATR-142 family of avionics transceivers. The unit provides all of the necessary interface and control functions to enable the ATR-142 to be integrated into avionics systems, from ground-based test systems to aircraft control systems. The unit is used for the control of ATR-142 transceiver functions and the integration of other avionics functions, such as test and simulation systems, into the ATR-142 aircraft communications platform. The ATR142-ABC includes two connectors (A and B), one for power and one for data, which provide connectivity to the associated ATR-142 transceiver. The interface modules provide full-duplex access to the ATR-142 transceiver, including command set, data set, and communication interface. The control unit provides control of the ATR-142’s essential transceiver functions, including antenna selection, frequency selection, and output power level. The module is designed to meet the requirements of FAR Part 91 compliance, which pertains to the operation of the ATR-142 in the airspace of the United States.
