Bossard is a small village in Eastern Switzerland, located in the canton of Zurich, in the district of Hinwil. It is situated at the foot of the Alpstein mountain range, at an elevation of 550 metres above sea level. Bossard is one of the smallest communities in the canton of Zurich, with a population of just 1,538 people as of 2020. The village is surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape, with nearby attractions including the Rhine Falls, Einsiedeln Abbey, Rapperswil Castle, Greifensee and Uetliberg. There are numerous wooded forests and meadows in the area, while the nearby Obersee lake and Limmat River add to the tranquil atmosphere of the village. The village has a traditional centre and maintains its Swiss charm, consisting of various medieval half-timbered buildings. There are various amenities in the village, including a school and a local church, as well as a post office, shops and restaurants.
