BPL 9-12 is a fund supported program under the BPOWER Initiative, which combines BPOWER resources, locally generated funds, and public-private partnerships to help states leverage public and private resources to deliver results for people in need. It provides grants for states to promote child health, quality education, adequate housing, essential social services and community development initiatives in disadvantaged communities across the nation. Through these nine- to twelve-year initiatives, states can build upon their existing efforts to carry out successful, cost-effective programs that focus on key outcomes. This includes increasing access to health care, improving education, increasing access to housing and youth services, economic development, and transforming the quality and effectiveness of the public health and social service delivery systems. Grants through BPL 9-12 will help states to build on current investments and efforts to promote health, education, and neighborhood revitalization.
