project
The ZRS-SET/OPEL-I part of the Carmedia project was an initiative by Opel to create an infotainment system for its vehicles. This project provided drivers with a wide range of features, including navigation, audio and media playback, climate control, and connectivity to various online services. The system used voice commands as well as touchscreen controls to connect drivers to their vehicles' systems. Further, drivers could customize their driving experience by adjusting the settings of the climate control, audio, and navigation systems and access the latest updates regarding traffic and road safety. The project involved a collaboration between Opel and global engineering, manufacturing and automotive services company, ZF Friedrichshafen AG. In addition to providing the platform, the two companies cooperated on the software and hardware components of the system.
