The stereo power amplifiers can deliver up to 15 W per Right-Justified 16-, 18-, 20-, 24-bits channel into 8 speakers from a small space-saving Digital Serial Connection to Additional CS4525 48-pin QFN package. The PWM amplifier can achieve or DACs for Subwoofer greater than 85% efficiency. The package is thermally Digital Interface to External Lip-Sync Delay enhanced for optimal heat dissipation which eliminates the need for a heatsink. PWM Switch Rate Shifting Eliminates AM Frequency Interference The power stage outputs can be configured as two full- Digital Volume Control with Soft ramp bridge channels for 2 x 15 W operation, two half-bridge channels and one full-bridge channel for +24 to -103 dB in 0.5 dB steps 2 x 7 W + 1 x 15 W operation, or one parallel full-bridge Programmable Peak Detect and Limiter channel for 1 x 30 W operation. The CS4525 integrates 2-Channel Logic-Level PWM Output on-chip over-current, under-voltage, and over-tempera- ture protection and error reporting as well as a thermal Programmable Channel Mapping warning indicator and programmable foldback of the Can Drive an External PWM Amplifier, output power to allow cooling. Headphone Amplifier, or Line-Out Amplifier The main digital serial port on the CS4525 can support Integrated Headphone Detection asynchronous operation with the integrated on-chip Flexible Power Output Configurations sample rate converter (SRC) which eases system inte- Thermal Foldback for Interruption-Free gration. The SRC allows for a fixed PWM switching Power-Stage Protection frequency regardless of incoming sample rate as well Supports Internal and External Power as optimal clocking for the A/D modulators. Stages An on-chip oscillator driver eliminates the need for an Operation from On-Chip Oscillator Driver or external crystal oscillator circuit, reducing overall design Applied Systems Clock cost and conserving circuit board space. The CS4525 automatically uses the on-chip oscillator driver in the Supports IC Host Control Interface absence of an applied master clock. Hardware Mode System Features The CS4525 is available in a 48-pin QFN package in 2-Channel Stereo Full-Bridge Power Outputs Commercial grade (-10 to +70 C).
