CS8406-CSZ Cirrus Logic

The CS8406-CSZ is a Digital Audio Transmitter manufactured by Cirrus Logic that is capable of transmitting and receiving audio at a 192 kHz sample rate over a variety of serial interfaces. It has a low operating current requirement, extremely low jitter, an improved PSRR, and an embedded low-latency audio PLL for simple clock synchronization with external devices. The transmitter supports a wide range of sample rates from 32 kHz up to 192 kHz, and features an integrated low-power CMOS-based microphone bias and output-buffer circuit. It also includes voltage-controlled output for digital input level adjustment and enables up to 6-channel 28-bit audio. It has a digital interface which supports I2S, DSP, TDM, and AC97 formats with up to 4 lane compatibility. In addition, it features a flexible master clock and interrupts for audio channel status messages as well as advanced features such as DSD support. This part is excellent for use in high-fidelity digital audio applications, such as found in consumer electronics, professional audio, and automotive markets.
