WM8716 w High Performance 24-bit, 192kHz Stereo DAC DESCRIPTION FEATURES 112dB SNR (A weighted 48kHz), THD: -97dB The WM8716 is a high performance stereo DAC designed for audio applications such as CD, DVD, home theatre -1dB FS systems, set top boxes and digital TV. The WM8716 Sampling frequency: 8kHz to 192kHz supports data input word lengths from 16 to 24-bits and Selectable digital filter roll-off sampling rates up to 192kHz. The WM8716 consists of a Optional interface to industry standard external filters serial interface port, digital interpolation filter, multi-bit sigma Differential mono mode delta modulator and stereo DAC in a small 28-lead SSOP package. The WM8716 also includes a digitally controllable Input data word: 16 to 24-bit mute and attenuator function on each channel. Hardware or SPI compatible serial port control modes: Hardware mode: mute, de-emphasis, audio format The internal digital filter has two selectable roll-off control characteristics. A sharp or slow roll-off can be selected dependent on application requirements. Additionally, the Serial mode: mute, de-emphasis, attenuation (256 internal digital filter can be by-passed and the WM8716 steps), phase reversal used with an external digital filter. Compatible upgrade to PCM1716 The WM8716 supports two connection schemes for audio APPLICATIONS DAC control. The SPI-compatible serial control port provides access to a wide range of features including on- CD, DVD audio chip mute, attenuation and phase reversal. A hardware Home theatre systems controllable interface is also available.
