The CN3165 with PMIC – Battery Management DFN-8 RoHS from Consonance is a highly integrated over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, and short-circuit protection device designed for use in lithium-ion and lithium-polymer battery management. This device features an 8-pin dual flat no-lead (DFN) package, RoHS-compliant design, and integrated power MOSFET with low on-resistance. It is designed to protect Lithium-ion (Li-Ion) and Lithium-polymer (Li-PO) battery packs, and provides over-charge, over-discharge, over-current, and short-circuit protection. It also allows for over-temp protection, a battery disconnect signal, and gain comparison analog detect circuit. The CN3165 offers features such as direct connection to battery or system monitoring, 2-wire battery measurement with an external gain, built-in input/output comparator, adjustable high and low temperature delay time, adjustable battery voltage limit setting, adjustable current limit setting, and low voltage detect circuit. Its wide supply voltage range (2.5V to 5.5V) and low quiescent current (1.2µA typical) make it suitable for portable applications.
