A130727 is a dialect of Coto, a Salishan language spoken on the east side of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. It is spoken mainly in the communities of Chemainus, Kuper, Stz'uminus, Thetis Island, and Alert Bay. In comparison to other dialects of Coto, A130727 is notable for its simplified phonology, which includes the reduction of labialized and aspirated series of stops and fricatives, as well as the loss or reduction of vowel length and intonation distinctions. This simplification has led to increased use of loanwords and topicalization of nouns derived from English.
