SWTC-3 is the third and final stage of the Weatherization and Technical Correction (SWTC) initiative, which is set to begin in 2021. This stage will focus on implementing upgrades and improvements to existing heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as ensuring that these systems meet the latest energy efficiency standards. It will include measures to ensure proper and efficient air sealing, insulation levels, and controlling humidity within homes. SWTC-3 will also emphasize the use of tactile smart devices to better manage and monitor these systems. Smart thermostats, for example, can be used to program a home to only heat or cool at certain times, allowing it to save energy when not in use. Additionally, smart leaks can be used to detect water leaks and improve upon water efficiency. This program will be administered through Curtis World, which is a platform that provides resources and tailored solutions to identify and solve energy-related issues in residential and commercial buildings.
