The iW1710-01 is a digital Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) current-mode controller developed by Dialog Semiconductor. It is suitable for use in quasi-resonant flyback applications and designed to support a range of input voltages. It features current-mode PWM (CMPWM) control architecture, fixed-frequency 650 kHz switching operation, output overcurrent and open-loop protection, and system-level diagnostics. This controller can operate in either burst-mode or discontinuous conduction modes to reduce system power consumption. It also features integrated soft-start and adjust overshoot, allowing the system to fit tight efficiency and electromagnetic interference (EMI) regulations. This integrated device has an avalanche energy rating of 60 mJ, while its under-voltage lockout (UVLO) circuit protects against operations at low-line conditions. It is provided in a SOIC-8 package and is suitable for automotive, computer, consumer, and telecom applications.
