Rev 1.4 DIO5158 1A Lithium Ion Battery Charger IC Features Descriptions Complete Charge Management for Single The DIO5158 is a complete constant-current/ constant voltage linear charger for single cell Cell Lithium Battery Li-ion and Li Polymer rechargeable batteries. The On-chip Power MOSFET device contains an on-chip power MOSFET and No external Blocking Diode or Current eliminates the need for the external sense Sense Resistors Required resistor and blocking diode. Its low external Preset 4.2V Regulation Voltage with 1% component count makes DIO5158 ideally suited Accuracy for portable applications. Thermal feedback Pre-charge Conditioning for Reviving Deeply regulates the charge current to limit the die Discharged Dells and Minimizing Heat temperature during high power operation or high Dissipation during Initial Stage of Charge ambient temperature. The regulation voltage is Charge Current Up to 1A fixed at 4.2V with 1% accuracy. The charge Constant-Current/Constant-Voltage current can be set externally with a single Operation with Thermal Regulation to resistor. When the input supply is removed, the Maximize Charge Rate without Risk of DIO5158 automatically enters a low power sleep Overheating mode, dropping the battery drain current to less Automatic Low-Power Sleep Mode when than 3A. Other features include under voltage Input Supply Voltage is Removed lockout, automatic recharge, chip enable function, Status Indications for LEDs or uP Interface battery temperature monitoring and charge C/10 Charge Termination status indications. Automatic Recharge The DIO5158 is available in EP-SOIC8, EP-MSOP8 Battery Temperature Monitoring and DFN3*3-10 packages.
