Donauwörth is a town in the German state of Bavaria, located in the administrative district of Swabia. It is situated on the left bank of the Danube, at the confluence of the Wörnitz and Wörnitzgraben, which form the northern edge of the town. The contemporary administrative area of Donauwörth includes the town itself, as well as several local villages.
The D-SP3 part of Donauwörth lies within the central part of the town, in a densely populated residential area close to the Danube River. Among the most notable attractions of the area, there is the old Town Hall, built in the 17th century; the old Town Hall Square, with Boule courts, playgrounds and benches; the St. Johannes Church, with its magnificent baroque façade; the Pavillon Park, with its minimalist landscaping; and the local shopping district, with both commercial and retail business. Other attractions in the area include the Water Tower, the traditional beer gardens, and a number of outdoor spots with scenic views of the river. The area is easily accessible by bicycle and public transport, as well as by car.
