1. The Donau River: The Donau, or Danube, is Europe's second-longest river, stretching some 2,885 miles (4,620 km) from Germany's Black Forest to the Black Sea. It passes through nine countries, including Austria, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, and Romania, making it an important waterway for those nations and a popular destination for cruises and other recreational activities.
2. Wachau Valley: The Wachau Valley is a picturesque landscape of vineyards, forested hills, and medieval towns that lies along the banks of the Donau between Vienna, Austria and Melk, Austria. It is famous for its cultural heritage and wine production, and is also home to several UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
3. E1671: The E1671 is a designated cycling route that follows the entire length of the Donau from source to mouth. The route was first developed and mapped in the 1990s and is partially funded by the European Union. The route is divided into several sections, each about 200-300 miles (322-482 km) long that create a scenic—and sometimes challenging—journey along the length of the river.
