II
LZA1 — also known as Donau II — is a German-language language assessment for adults developed by the Language Testing Service and the University of Applied Sciences for Business and Informatics, Berlin (FOM). It assesses language proficiency for six levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. It tests reading, listening and writing skills, including grammar and vocabulary. The test is designed to measure a test-taker’s capacity to function and communicate in a German-speaking environment, and is used as part of the process for granting a residence permit in Germany.
