The QP7540/LA-MIL is a high performance silicon photonics laser source from E2v Technologies. It is designed for the transmission of long-wavelength multi-Gigabit communications links. The device is built around a VCSEL diode that operates at up to 12.5 Gb/s data rate with a compact footprint. The module also includes an integrated distributed feedback (DFB) laser, low jitter laser driver, temperature sensor, and peltier cooling system. It incorporates temperature compensation, allowing it to achieve excellent eye-opening and modulation performance, even over wide temperature variations. The device is compliant with a variety of industry standards, such as 40G/100G IEEE 802.3ba and 12.5 Gb/s transmission speeds.
