P1A3A EAC

P1A3A is a part of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) process for European Union (EU) and World Bank financing operations. The process is used to assess the potential positive and negative effects of proposed projects on a local population, the environment and the surrounding natural resources. P1A3A is the third and final phase in this assessment. It consists of review and analysis of all data collected and findings gathered in the first two phases of the ESIA process. At this stage, the ESIA team must evaluate the likely environmental and social impacts of the project and provide their professional opinion as to whether the proposed project is acceptable and has the potential for positive long-term outcomes for the project and its surrounding inhabitants. The results of the P1A3A are subsequently presented to the lenders and project stakeholders so they can make an informed decision regarding the project.
