SPG is an efficient mechanical lubricant for plastics both with themselves and with metals. A harder, more adhesive version of SPG is available called SPGA. It is particularly recommended as an assembly aid in switch manufacture (montage grease). It is also ideal to reduce wear in timers and other plastic/plastic friction points (e.g. photocopiers).
