1. RE6 (also known as “Resident Evil 6”) is a third-person shooter action-adventure video game developed and published by Capcom. It is the ninth installment in the Resident Evil series, and was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in October 2012. It was ported to Microsoft Windows in March 2013, with a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One port released late in 2016.
2. Set in the fictional town of Lanshiang, RE6 follows Leon S. Kennedy and Chris Redfield as they attempt to forestall a global C-virus outbreak caused by the BSAA (Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance). Along the way, they partner with several other characters, including Helena Harper and Jake Muller.
3. The game features both single-player and co-op modes. In single-player, players can switch between the two protagonists at certain points in the story and the game can be paused to issue commands to their partner. In co-op, two players can join forces to complete missions. The game also features Mercenaries mode, which features wave-based survival gameplay, as well as a number of unlockable skills and weapons.
4. RE6 introduces the C-virus, and its direct predecessor, the V-ACT virus. The C-virus raises the dead and turns them into zombies, while V-ACT transforms humans into hulking, physically powerful and intelligent creatures. RE6 also includes a highly sophisticated AI system, which makes enemies more intelligent and adaptive, meaning they can react more realistically to the situation.
5. RE6 also includes online leaderboards, allowing players to compare their scores against each other. There are also four difficulty levels:
• Amateur (Easy),
• Normal (Medium),
• Professional (Hard),
• Extreme (Very Hard).
6. Lastly, RE6 has received generally positive reviews, with critics praising its visuals, co-op play, and replayability, though a few critics noted that it had become too action-oriented and focused too much on spectacle over tension.
