100-35 Etri

Etri 100-35 is a high-performance computer developed by the Electronic and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) in South Korea. It has a peak performance of 2.8 TFLops and has 36,864 cores. It has 230 TB of memory and runs the Linux operating system. It is the most powerful supercomputer in South Korea and is considered the most powerful in Asia outside of Japan. The Etri 100-35 has an accelerated computing cluster with four Infiniband switches connected in an all-to-all network configuration. It is driven by two Xeon Phi 7120D processors with eight cores each, delivering almost twice the single-threaded performance of a top-end Intel Xeon CPU. Each processor is connected to 768 GB of DDR4 RAM. The system supports up to 32 NVIDIA Tesla K40 GPUs for deep learning tasks. Etri 100-35 can use up to four NVIDIA Tesla K20 GPUs per processor, providing extreme parallel processing performance. It is designed to provide reliable performance for CPU- and GPU-centric High Performance Computing (HPC) application, and for large-scale deep learning and machine learning applications. The Etri 100-35 includes high-bandwidth and low-latency networking technologies such as Infiniband and 10Gbps Ethernet. It can be used for a range of big data applications including simulation and visualization, storage, data analytics and artificial intelligence/deep learning.
