’s curriculum
05.02.083 of Ettinger's curriculum is related to the evaluation and management of acute otitis media in pediatric patients. It focuses on the diagnosis, management and follow-up of pediatric patients presenting with acute otitis media. This part of the curriculum covers diagnosis of acute otitis media, medical and surgical management, role of imaging studies and other antibiotics in management, immunization, patient/family education and anticipatory guidance. It also includes treatment objectives, how to recognize complications, assessment of concurrent conditions, early recognition of failure of medical management, common challenges for management and when to refer the patient for further evaluation.
