The EL817 part of Everlight is a surface mount infrared (IR) LED. It is an 8mm square package, and is commonly used in electronic circuits requiring a remote control, an infrared transmission, or a light-emitting diode (LED) indicator. This part is a molded plastic package with IR LEDs inside and has a narrow viewing angle of 20 degrees. It can be used in a variety of consumer and industrial applications, including consumer electronics, communications, automotive, audio/visual, and medical applications. With a decent forward current of 20mA and a peak wavelength of 890nm, this part has high performance and excellent protection against reverse polarity.
