802.15.4 Module
The GS-AEK-VIDEOGEO1080P part of the Gainspan 802.15.4 Module is an ultra-low-power, high-performance IEEE 802.15.4 chip designed for ZigBee® communication, designed specifically for advanced smart sensors and for applications such as security, energy management, environment monitoring, and industrial control. The GS-AEK-VIDEOGEO1080P is an integrated system-on-chip (SoC) that combines the Gainspan 802.15.4 transceiver with a Gainspan ATMega168-L microcontroller and an embedded IEEE 802.15.4 RF transceiver. The GS-AEK-VIDEOGEO1080P offers extended range, robust RF performance, and low transmit and receive current consumption, making it suited for low power applications. The chip supports digital audio, video and image transmission, and supports 2.4GHz band frequency hopping and has an on-chip antenna. It can also be used with an external antenna. The Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 128-bit encryption is also supported to provide additional security. In addition to standard digital data, the GS-AEK-VIDEOGEO1080P can also transmit video and image data at up to 1080p resolution.
